Not as expected

I went a book signing last week and was joking with the author that he should make my book out to his "favorite Twitter follower." That isn't exactly what he wrote. He wanted to give me another book he felt so bad about it. No way, it was perfect.

That's a wrap

After 9.5 years, I turned in my badge (original photo from my start date), my computer and left my little office at Cincinnati Children's for the last time last month.

Notice...

The first thing I noticed was the retro font, followed by the brown placard. It looked like something you'd see at a National Park. I thought I was NPS 1935. It isn't, but it's close.

You really have to see it in person to appreciate the style. Which means you have to get past a guard station, badge into a building that was built during the 1940s as part of the Wright Aeronautical site and go into a women's restroom on the second floor.

It would be worth it. It's a great old sign.

Saturday in a reading chair

Ray spent the day hanging drywall in the basement. I spent it being completely destroyed by The Tsar of Love and Techno. I don't know who Anthony Marra thinks he is, forcing people to spend sunny Saturday's in a reading chair with his profound book. The nerve.

(Anthony, please come to my house for tea so we can discuss your masterful, lyrical stories of abject pain and staggering beauty. Thank you.)
